Hey guys! I hope you all are having a lovely week! So, if you didn’t read last week’s post you may not know that I recently went to London and Paris! If you are interested in learning more about what I did there and what I thought of it definitely go check out that post! Anyway, while I was in London I went to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, which for those of you who do not know, basically is a behind the scenes look at the making of the Harry Potter movies (which you all by now probably know I am OBSESSED with), and it had lots of props and set pieces and just SO much cool stuff! In this post, I won’t be talking about that, though- but I am excited to tell you that you can read ALL about it on my sister’s blog, Thoughts by Zoe!! And while you’re at it, go check out her other posts, too, because she is amazing! So while you can see what we did over on Zoe’s blog, for this post, I am going to be filling you in on what we bought while we were there. I hope you enjoy!
I saw the Remembrall almost right away when I walked into the gift shop and knew I HAD to get it, especially, because it was a very reasonable price. The remembrall is seen in the movies in The Sorcerer’s Stone when it is sent to Neville by his grandmother- it immediately glows red (which the toy one also does, when you hold down a button), indicating he has forgotten someone, only he can’t remember what he’s forgotten! I especially liked this because it looks pretty close to the one in the movie, and looks really nice when displayed on a shelf. Overall, a great addition to my collection!
Honeydukes’ Sea Salt Caramel Fudge
I certainly couldn’t leave without buying some Honeydukes candies! I have not tried the fudge before and it looked so delicious, so it was an obvious choice.
Parchment and Quill Pen
I’ve never bought a quill pen before, so this was just something different that I think would be neat to have, and it wasn’t very expensive. And you can’t have a quill without parchment! The parchment includes ten sheets and has the Hogwarts crest at the top of each sheet- it just looks really cute and would be great for writing letters or invitations, and again, was pretty cheap.
Harry Potter Film Wizardry Book
This one was a little bit more pricey, but I think is probably my favorite thing we bought, and I would one hundred percent recommend to buy if you are a huge fan of Harry Potter. The book has a lot of cool facts about the making of the movies, which is very cool to read, but that’s not all the book has to offer. Inside, there are SO many cool pieces you can take out and display, which I think justifies the price a little bit more. It includes:
- 4 Educational Decree Posters
- Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes catalog (which I LOVE!)
- Borgin and Burke’s catalog
- 442nd Quidditch World Cup Programme
- A sticker book with lots of cool potion labels that looks like the Advanced Potion Making textbook
- A Yule Ball decoration
- 3 Honeydukes’ boxes
- Mafalda Hopkirk’s Ministry of Magic ID Card
- Harry’s letter from Hogwarts (with the envelope)
- A photo album from the set
I knew when I bought this that there were a few extra things inside, but I was shocked when I realized how many there actually were! They all were things that I thought again were very authentic and were things I had never seen in any store before. I would caution you with one point, though: the items are made of paper, so just be careful if you take them out of the book so they don’t rip, but if you are careful they will come out and stay in fine condition.
Souvenir Ice Cream Dishes
I don’t want to give away too much of what we did, but you may be able to figure out what we snacked on when we were there! We got three dishes which are SUPER cute, and if you are wondering, have the same design as the ones from Universal Studios Orlando, so they match really well. In Orlando, we have bought the glasses, so this time we bought the dishes. They are just really cute and are perfect for throwing Harry Potter themed parties, or just for using while watching the movies! The only thing is they are not dishwasher safe, so just make sure to hand wash them!
So there you have it, I hope you enjoyed reading this very magical post and do let me know what your favorite item was and any other pieces of Harry Potter merchandise you absolutely love. Also, don’t forget to check out Zoe’s blog to read more about this trip! Thank you so much for reading and have a great week!
